Happy Saskatchewan Day!!

We had a very eventful Saskatchewan Day Weekend. It started on Thursday when we drove to Saskatoon for the Alison Krauss and Union Station Concert. It was amazing!! They are such talented and brilliant musicians. I am so grateful that I finally got to see them play live!!

We also got to see my sister's new house. They have a fantastic walking/biking path right where they live.

Pretty soon, it was time to drive home.

Saturday was so hot and humid, but it was a great time to get in the pool! It poured rain later that evening. Luckily, our neighbourhood didn't flood and we didn't lose power.

Sunday was a little damp after all the rain we got. I went for a walk before the clouds came, and it rained on us again.

Which brings us to today, Saskatchewan Day! I decided to take a different route for my walk today. The first half of the walk was very nice, along the creek, then through a park and over a bridge. The second half was through downtown to get back to my car. I'm going to see if there is another path that might be more scenic.

When I got back, I sat outside for a bit, picked some raspberries, and swam in the pool. Then it was time for a special Saskatchewan Styled Supper! Mennonite Sausage from Ideal Meats (Olser, SK)
Perogies from Ogie’s Perogies (Regina, SK), carrots and beans from the local Hutterite Colony (and my mom!) It all paired nicely with my new cocktail, which I have named the Saskatchewan Bramble made from raspberries from my garden, Saskatoons from the local Hutterite colony, gin from Stumbletown Distillery, and Saskatoon liqueur from Lucky Bastard Distillers. Gotta say, it's the best Bramble I've ever made. Happy Saskatchewan Day!!
