I Found It

After an extensive trial process, I finally found my favourite walking path. I had several criteria to decide on the perfect path.

1. Walkability

The path must be a dedicated walking/biking path. I do not want to cross the street and I do not want to deal with traffic. This path only has one small side street, but it's in the park and the drivers are already going slow and looking for pedestrians.

2. Scenery

Basically, I want to look at something pretty. Most of the paths go along the creek, which I love. There are plenty of flowers, plants, birds, and banks to look at. I want a path that makes me want to reach for my camera to capture the scene. Bonus points if I have to cross a bridge. This path has three bridges!

3. Distance

This path is 3 km long and takes me approximately 30 minutes to walk (if I don't stop to take pictures). This seems to be the perfect distance for me. Once I'm done, I'm tired, but not exhausted. I feel like I have accomplished something but not like I ran a marathon or something. There is another path that I like but it is 5 kms long. I only take that path when I'm feeling ambitious.

4. Loop

I don't really know how to describe this other than I want to walk a loop. There are several other paths in town that meet all of the other criteria but you get to the end (or some random spot) stop, turn around, and go back the way you came. This path has a nice loop in the middle and takes you back to your starting point without ever having to stop and turn around.

The only downside to this path is that I have to drive there. It feels weird to drive somewhere to go for a walk. The path by my house is probably my second favourite path because of it's convenience but then I do have to cross the street a few times and the scenery isn't as nice, and when I reach a certain point, I need to stop and turn around.

Here are a few pictures from my walk this morning:
